Services Provided

Medical Massage

Specific treatments designed to address specific medical conditions.  (See list on Medical Massage Page of some of the conditions I am able to treat.)

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is also called deep muscle therapy or deep tissue therapy. It is a term used to describe various massage styles that focus on the deeper muscles and connective tissues of the body. The therapist uses movement and pressure to reshape and realign the muscles and connective tissue, breaking old, habitual holding patterns.

Swedish Massage  & Relaxation Massage

Swedish massage is also known as the Western or classic style of massage. It is credited to the Swedish fencing master and gymnastics instructor, Per Henrik Ling. It is a scientific system of manipulations on the muscles and connective tissues of the body for the purpose of relaxation, rehabilitation or health maintenance. Swedish massage therapy is comprised of five basic strokes and their variations: effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement (or percussion) and vibration. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a pain-relief technique to alleviate muscle spasms and cramping. The therapist locates and deactivates `trigger points', which are often tender areas where muscles have been damaged or acquired a recurring spasm or `kink' that worsens painfully when aggravated. Trigger Points typically 'refer' pain to areas surrounding or even very distant from the 'tender' point'. The major goals are to reduce spasm inducing new blood flow into the affected area.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is performed without oil and is used to break skin adhesions to the fascia that usually occurs after an injury.  It helps to increase range of motion and restore mobility.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is used to help athletes warm up before competitions as well as restore and rehabilitate afterward.  It is very effective in helping the athlete to rehabilitate after injury and can actually give them the edge over their competition.

Reflexology

Reflexology focuses on specific points on the feet and hands that relate to different parts and systems of the body.  As these points are stimulated and released you may actually experience physical sensations or reactions in that specific area.

Positional Release

Positional Release is a therapy which combines trigger point therapy and muscle positioning that helps to release spasm or trigger points in a muscle.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is massage performed utilizing smooth stones heated in water and held in the hand against the skin.  The warmth from the stones allows the muscles to relax and deeper work can be done.  The stones are then placed on the body after an area has been addressed to maintain the warmth and increase circulation to the muscles. Very relaxing and rehabilitating!
